Stephane Dalle is a distinguished dancer and renowned teacher whose journey in the world of ballet is marked by exceptional dedication and profound expertise. He received his foundational education in dance from esteemed instructors in both Paris and in the United States. In Paris, he studied under the guidance of Solange Golovine, then honing his skills with Serge Golovine, Pierre Lacoste and Ghislaine Thesmar at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Stephane was awarded with the Fondation de la danse Yvette Bouland-Vinay’s scholarship in 1983. In the US, he furthered his training under the tutelage of Gabriela Darwach and William Griffith and he also attended the renowned School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York. As a SAB scholarship holder, Stephane refined his technique and artistry with Stanley Williams and Andrei Kramarewsky. His talent was quickly recognized on the international stage, earning him prestigious awards such as the Johnson Foundation Prize at the Prix de Lausanne, in Switzerland in 1984 and later the Best Partner Prize at the Serge Lifar Competition in Kiev, Ukraine in 1997. Stephane was also a finalist at the Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria in 1988. Throughout his career, Stephane performed as a Soloist or a Principal with well-known companies worldwide, showcasing his versatility and artistry in both classical and contemporary repertoires such as Marius Petipa, Heinz Spoerli, Frederic Ashton, Georges Balanchine, Maurice Bejart, William Forsythe, Glen Tentley, Flemming Flindt, Leonide Massine, David Lichine, Mikhail Fokine, Peter Martins, Rudi van Dantzig, Peter Wright, Twyla Tharp, Harald Lander, Hans van Manen, August Bournonville, Paul Taylor, Jan Fabre, Uwe Scholz, Peter van Dyck, Germinal Casado… Stephane left an indelible mark on the dance world from the Opera de Zurick, the Bejart Ballet Lausanne, the Frankfurt Ballet, English National Ballet, the Het National Ballet Amsterdam to Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley… Following his retirement from dancing in 2006, Stephane transitioned into the role of Ballet Master where he helped shape the artistic vision of three prominent European compagnies. From 2011 to 2015, he acquired his initial experience with the Polish National Ballet in Warsaw, working on a large variety of productions. Later, Stephane worked with the Royal Danish Ballet leveraging his profound insight. Ultimately, he served as Ballet Master at the Ballet de l’Opera national du Capitole, Toulouse where he set classical ballets and creations until 2022. In addition to his accomplishments as a dancer and ballet master, Stephane's passion for teaching led him to become a sought-after professor. He acquired a recognized expertise in the Floor Barre method of the Boris Kniaseff. In 2009, Stephane recorded floor barre classes with the students of the John Cranko Ballet School in Stuttgart and published 3 DVDs, beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Throughout his career, Stephane was honored to be coached by Jean Golovine, Raymond Franchetti, Jaqueline Fynnaert, Tadeusz Matacz, Larissa Sklyanska, Olga Evreinoff, Ute Mitreuter and Christine Anthony. Stephane's training laid the foundation for his illustrious career as a dancer, ballet master and teacher. Today, Stephane remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of dancers and shaping the future of ballet. In 1996, Stephane was named “Ambassador of art” by the city of St Quentin, France.
